Description GetIt!
BrainWave 1998 0211 My first 2 x 24 bar techno-loop, and also my first try to encode mp3 from my own source. Created on Win, encoded on Mac.

To bad, its encoded in stereo even if the source is mono! Very bad mixing. Some sync trouble in the start and end, have to work with that one. And the loop is a bit, well, monotone...

Dedicatet to Simen, with thanks for all inspiration and help with my sound-experiments
through many,many years.

Floating 1998 0214

Second "song". Lazy work, almost all patterns are from the default Rebirth set. Encoded with L3 for dos. Nice quality on the result. Slow tempo. Still mono.

Dedicated to all people which happens to be in the mood for some slow vibrations.

UnixMan 1998 0215
1998 0314

Not really my own song, the lyrics are from some anonymous net-poet, and the melody by the Beatles.

My first version is a mix of the midi-melody where the vocals are performed by a robot from Creativs SingingText.

The second version (good) is improved with new instruments (Roland D-10), new voice (Fred from MacOS8), and much better mixing. Now also in stereo ( like every Beatles based melody should be).

Dedicated to all unix-hackers on the planet, who's feeling lost in a crazy world, where no one seems to realize the power of a Real OS

UnixMan-Remix 1998 0309

Got bored of the nowhereman melody, and remixed Unixman with new melody and rearranged lyrics.

Improved midi-sounds with a "hardware" Roland D-10 synth, improved vocals by Fred from MacOS 8.0, better sync melody/lyrics, and enchanced quality of the final mix, but still lot to learn about that.

Next to do is Rebirth drums and baselines, write some more lyrics, and improve the sound quality in the final mix.

Doctor Data 1998 0509

This is how it could sound if your computer was able to tell you about its problems, trying to speak in a human fashion...

The lyrics are grabbed from the manul for COPSTalk (Mac/Win network).

The melody is constructed by StoneMan, using Cakewalk to sequence the Rebirth rhytm and the D-10 synth at the same time. Tried first to record the whole song "live", using two soundcards and a Mac, but the system crashed while saving, so I had to record each track for itself.

Dedicated to all the poor sucker's working in the IT support departments, and also their users who may know how hard it can be to understand the babble of a support man in action...
